Reiki (pronounced ray-kay) is a combination of two Japanese words: Rei which means "God's Wisdom" or "The Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy".
Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation and stress reduction that promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that we are animated and motivated by an unseen "life force energy" that lives inside of us and is all around us. If a person's "life force energy" is low they may be more likely to feel stress or to become ill. If a person's energy is high they are more capable of maintaining happiness and good health.
A Reiki session feels like a soft, glowing radiance flowing through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person, body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating several beneficial effects including relaxation, feelings of peace, secuirty, and well-being.
Reiki is a simple natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use, however, Reiki should never be used instead of medical treatment. Reiki should also be used as a compliment therapy to medical treatment and a way to become healthy and maintain good health. Reiki can help releive stress, pain, headaches, upset stomach, back problems, asthma, respiratory problems, menstural problems, sinus, and anxiety.
